Just returned from our first visit to The Old School after finding on an internet search when planning a visit to Landmark adventure park.

Beautiful accommodation in a fantastic part of Scotland with a very warm welcome from Kate, David and lovely labradors Gin, Mia and Bess. Even the weather was perfect (for us non-skiers!).

One of our most enjoyable short breaks ever. Looking forward to our next, hopefully longer, visit already.

    Many thanks x

An amazingly beautiful place to stay in a stunning location. Thank-you Kate and David for getting the car out of the snow, for the fresh eggs and for having them hold the food at the pub in Carrbridge. Everyone has been so friendly and kind, we have had a lovely time.

This was our second trip to The Old School, and certainly won't be our last. Once again Kate and David were the perfect hosts. There were eggs in the fridge waiting for us when we arrived, and Kate provided a venison jus for my birthday meal. This area of Scotland is just as stunning in the winter as in the summer, and we've got hundreds of photos to prove it. The only downside to the week was that the snow was melting!

Many many thanks to you both,
    Kathy, Steve and Angus (mew)

From the moment Kate waved us into the drive with a torch - stood in the freezing cold snow in pitch dark - to digging us out of the drive when we left a week later we had the most amazing time!

To welcome us were lovely warm, clean apartments furnished to a high standard, with all the mod cons of home - the apartment even had a beautiful Christmas tree, a bottle of malt to warm the cockles, lovely Scottish shortbread and fresh eggs from the free range chickens on site. More importantly after days skiing and other activities the beds were warm and ultra comfortable!

It was perfectly placed for visiting the vast range activities on the stunning mountains, Loch Ness, Inverness etc…and when you need a bit of downtime The Old School House is in such a beautiful location with plenty of land (and animals) for the kids to run around free range too – in fact the kids would have happily stayed there the whole holiday!

What made the visit extra special was the hospitality from Kate and David who went above and beyond the call of duty – from driving us into town for supplies and towing us out the drive when we were snowed in, to welcoming us to join their Hogmanay celebrations (piper included!) we had a fantastic winter wonderland holiday.

Thank you both (and the extended family,) so much for an amazing Hogmanay and holiday – see you again for Hogmanay in 2010.

Thank you Kate and David for being fantastic hosts and making our New Year one we will never forget.
Your generosity and hospitality were second to none. A push up the drive in 2 feet of snow, a stunning Christmas tree, free range eggs from the chickens, whiskey and Scottish shortbread were all there to welcome us. Due to the amount of snow Kate even went to the extent of driving us into Aviemore for supplies and invited us to a New Year party with her family made complete with her nephew who played the bag pipes! The best Hogmanay we've ever had.
The old school is in a great location for many attractions and 20 minutes from the Cairngorm mountains, where we tried skiing for the first time.
We stayed in Mrs.Clarks class room which is luxurious, tastefully decorated, spacious and warm, even in freezing temperatures. The kids loved the dogs, cats and chickens and had plenty of space to run freely and sledge down the hill without the worry of traffic. This is a peaceful home from home retreat to recharge your batteries and we hope to come back soon.

    Thank you once again.

    Kindest regards,

    Anita & Mehmet
